Intensive Outpatient Program
What is Intensive Outpatient (IOP)?
The Pompano Banyan Treatment Center provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (also known as IOP) that is recommended to clients based on a preliminary treatment assessment. It’s important that the Intensive Outpatient Program requirements are understood, and we want to ensure that our clients can follow the Intensive Outpatient program schedule to increase the chances of success in recovery.
IOP Programming is available in the Faith in Recovery Program which is located at Banyan Pompano Beach, Florida.
The Banyan Treatment Center Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) schedule is made to equip our clients with all the tools they need in transitioning back into day-to-day life outside of treatment. These tools ensure clients maintain sobriety after they complete the PHP level of care and then step down to IOP.
In the first phase, clients attend 5 days of group therapy each week. Phase two of IOP occurs when a client obtains employment, at which time clients can attend a minimum of three days a week in therapeutic programming. Groups are held daily, in the morning and in evenings for those that are employed. IOP in our clinical program centers on integrating clients into a larger recovery community.
Clients attend groups on relapse prevention, developing responsible behaviors and coping skills. Every Intensive Outpatient Program lasts as long as it must to ensure successful recovery. Clients also work with their therapists individually on a weekly basis. While clients are not attending group, they are free to go to meetings of their choice and to seek employment or volunteer. We are located in Pompano Beach, FL which is a great area in close proximity to the beach, malls, and restaurants, so there are plenty of options for fun sober activities in the area. IOP provides clients with a smooth transition from a treatment setting to continuing their journey of recovery and living a happy sober life.
The Importance of IOP for Continued Recovery
Clients are able to start rebuilding their personal lives and mending family relationships at this time. In the IOP Program, clients establish the foundation for long term recovery support in our local community right from the start of their treatment, instead of waiting until they return to their homes. Continued treatment removes the individual from all the temptations and triggers from society for a prolonged period. If a client returns to their previous way of life immediately after treatment, they are at risk for relapse. IOP schedules aid in creating a continued and consistent recovery process.
IOP is crucial to the transition back into daily life by still implementing all the therapies and ideas that treatment has taught them. At the Pompano Banyan Treatment Center, our Intensive Outpatient Program’s main goal is helping our clients live a sober, productive lifestyle after treatment.
